Film IS a Document: NFAJ Historic Film Portal has launched.
This website showcases an array of films from the NFAJ collection with the aim of sharing visual records of societies transformed and lives lived in the modern era of Japan.
The first edition of this site presents 87 titles featuring a variety of topics and shooting locations.
The selection includes documentaries of the Russo-Japanese War, educational films focusing on science, sports and tourism produced by the Ministry of Education, industrial and regional promotional films produced by local governments and corporations, and rich footage of imperial events and military exercises.
